HOW TO PROTECT SELECTED CELLS

1. Select all cells containing data.

2. Click on “Home” tab.

3. Choose the “Format” option on the ribbon to open the drop down list.

4. Click on “Lock Cell” option at the bottom of the list.

5. Right click on the cell that you want to protect.

6. Choose “Format Cells”.

7. Click on “Protection” tab.

8. Click to select the “Locked” box.

9. Click “OK”.

EXCEL 2007 | SPLIT INFORMATION ACROSS MULTIPLE CELLS

1. Highlight the cells you want to split.

2. Click on the “Data” tab.

3. Click “Text to Columns”.

4. Click “Delimited”.

5. Click “Next”.

6. Check the “Space” box.

7. Clear all other check boxes.

8. Click “Next”.

9. Click a column.

10. Under “Column Data Format” click “Text”.

11. Repeat for the second column.

12. Click on the box next to “Destination”.

13. Highlight the cells where you want the data to appear.

14. Click “Finish”.

HOW TO INSERT A POP-UP PICTURE IN A CELL

1.        Right-click the cell where you want the pop-up picture.

2.        Click on “Insert Comment”.

3.        Select any text that was automatically added to the comment, such as your name.

4.        Press the Delete key on your keyboard, to delete the text.

5.        Right-click the “comment border”.

6.        Click “Format Comment”.

7.        On the Colors and Lines tab, click the drop-down arrow for Color.

8.        Click “Fill Effects”.

9.        Click the “Picture tab”.

10.      Click on your picture, then click “Insert”.

11.      To keep the picture in proportion, add a check mark to “Lock Picture Aspect Ratio”.

12.      Click “OK, twice”, to close the dialog boxes.

1. To create a list of valid entries for the drop‐down list, type the entries in a single column or row without blank cells

2. Select the “cell” where you want the drop‐down list.

3. On the Data tab, in the Data Tools group, click “Data Validation”. 

4. Click the “Settings tab”.

5. In the Allow box, click “List”.

6. Fill up the “Source Box” with the address of the worksheet.

7. Make sure that the “In‐cell drop‐down” check box is selected.

8. Click “OK”.

HOW TO FIND THE PASSWORD OPTION IN EXCEL 2007

1. Click the “Microsoft Office” button.

2. Select “Save As”.

3. Click on “Tools”.

4. Then select “General Options”.

5. You can assign both passwords — one to access the file and one to provide specific reviewers with permission to modify its content. Make sure each password is different from each other.

6. When prompted to “Reenter password to proceed”, retype your password then click “OK”

 7. Click “Save”.
